The 2027 BMW M5 and M5 Touring have been undergoing extensive track testing for a while now. There have been multiple sightings of their test mules in the past. However, this time, both the upcoming models have been spotted near the Nurburgring together.
We can see in the video that it’s the 2027 G90 M5 that appears first, following which is the updated M5 Touring. Both test mules are wearing heavy camouflage just like we’ve seen multiple times before. But this time, they have been captured together, so we can clearly see the similarities and differences between them.
The 2027 BMW M5 and M5 Touring are expected to be based on the brand’s new Neue Klasse design language. They will have sharper front ends, revised bumpers, slimmer and wider kidney grilles, and new LED headlamps. At the back, both cars would have a set of slim wraparound LED taillights, along with the signature quad exhausts.
Regarding the engine, the upcoming M5 and M5 Touring will continue to use the same 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine, which is capable of producing 717 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Speaking of BMW’s Neue Klasse design language, the German auto giant has just revealed the M Concept Neue Klasse at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It showcases the new BMW M design language and gives us a glimpse of the next-generation M3.
